Cricket - Nepal spinner Sandeep Lamichhane was arrested yesterday almost a month after a court issued a warrant over the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl. The 22 year old, was taken into custody after landing at Kathmandu airport in Nepal.


He said  he was returning to co-operate with the investigation and has denied any wrongdoing. Lamichhane is Nepal's most high-profile cricketer, having played in Australia's Big Bash and the Indian Premier League.

 

Football - In last night's Europa League matches there were good wins for PSV Eindhoven, Arsenal, Real Betis, Manchester United  and Real Sociedad and in the Europa Conference there were good away wins for West Ham, Fiorentina and Nice. In the Women's World Cup qualifying games Portugal beat Belgium 2-1, Scotland defeated Austria 1-0 and  Wales also won 1-0 against  Bosnia.

 

Boxing - The fight between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr, due to take place in London UK tomorrow, has been postponed.It comes after 26 year old Benn , returned what promoters said was an "adverse analytical finding for trace amounts of a fertility drug". The British Boxing Board of Control had said the bout was "prohibited and not in the interests of boxing".
