Banglamung, Chonburi – A motorcyclist was killed instantly after reportedly crashing into a car at Chaiyapornvitee in the Pong subdistrict of Banglamung district on Saturday evening, October 8th.

Nong Prue police and rescue volunteers arrived at the scene around 8:00 PM. after being alerted to the road accident. Upon arrival, a white SUV was found with a damaged front end.

 

A wrecked blue-black motorcycle was spotted on the side of the road. The body of motorcyclist Rangsan Chadong, 35, was found lying nearby.

That amount of damage looks to have been caused by excessive speed.

I don't know from one photo but isn't the car on the wrong side of the road.

 

Looked at the original article and it says this:  "However, a witness stated to law enforcement that the car driven by Chaiyaporn was trying to overtake and directly crashed into the motorcycle that was reportedly staying in its lane."

So the car driver must have money or connections because the motorbike rider is being blamed first even though a witness says otherwise

is this not a reprint of a story from the other day ? no it's just another day on the roads to insanity.

And the xx other killed motorcyclists won't make it to English language news.

Another Thai in a rush to get nowhere for nothing.
Overtaking in the night here requires extreme precaution particularly on unlit roads.

I do sometimes wonder about this. There are on average two deaths an hour on Thai roads, over 80% on bikes. but we only read of one or two a day. I wonder how they are selected. Shouldn't there be a site solely to report road deaths? There'd be more individual stories than appear in AN headline newsletters, but I suppose if there were so many no-one would read any.

But the article also states that "SUV driver Chaiyaporn Saewang told the police that the motorcycle was coming in the opposite direction and crossed into his lane before bumping into his car."

 

Who to believe ?

 

This is why a Dash-cam is always important... If the driver is not telling porkie pies, this would exonerate him...   unless of course he was over-taking and drove straight into the oncoming motorcyclist.
