Upcoming JSOC law to prevent repeat offenses and improve safety in society

BANGKOK (NNT) - A bill aimed at preventing repeat criminal offenses, also known as the JSOC bill, has already received House approval and is awaiting enforcement. The justice minister asserts this law will enable the monitoring of persons who previously committed a sex crime, violence, or extortion. It is hoped the upcoming law will prevent repeat offenses and foster safety for former victims.

More shelters and jobs to be created for the homeless in Bangkok

More shelters are to be built for homeless people in Bangkok and more jobs opportunities will be made available to them, particularly for those who have recently become homeless, to improve their quality of life and to reduce homelessness, according to Deputy Bangkok Governor Sanon Wangsrangboon.

Thai political activist Srisuwan’s assailant charged with assault

The man who allegedly physically attacked political activist Srisuwan Janya on Tuesday has been charged with premeditated assault, which carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison and/or a fine of 60,000 baht on conviction.

Thai and Malaysian nationals arrested for reportedly being involved in human trafficking

A group of six Thai and Malaysian nationals were arrested in Bangkok for reportedly being involved in human trafficking of Thai victims to Dubai, Police General Surachat”Big Joke” Hakparn, Deputy Commissioner of the Thai National Police, revealed on Thursday, October 20th.

40th General Assembly of Chambers of Commerce to be held in Ubon Ratchathani next month

BANGKOK (NNT) - The 40th general assembly of chambers of commerce will be held from November 25 to 27. This year, the meeting venue for the annual event will be Ubon Ratchathani province. The Thai Chamber of Commerce hopes the 3-day event will contribute to the economy in Ubon Ratchathani, which recently suffered extensive floods.

Cabinet approves funding for new bridges in southern region
