Thailand's consumer council and the move forward party  have  threatened to charge the NBTC telecoms regulator with misconduct following the regulator's approval to the merger between DTAC and True. 

 

Opposition groups say the merger will result in a duopoly with only two major players in the market resulting in consumers paying higher service fees.

 

Opponents are likely to take their case to the anti corruption commission and through the courts.

 

Famous singer Aed "Carabao" will face a charge of defamation against the governor of Supan Buri next week when he is due to report to police.

 

The charge relates to comments made on stage during a concert after the governor allegedly refused to invite Carabao to play at the annual elephant duel.


The governor later posted that: no concerts were allowed due to social distancing measures. 

 

The police chief of Narathiwat has been transferred to an inactive post pending an investigation into alleged  connections to drug networks operating in the south. It’s believed the chief volunteered to supervise a case against several drug traffickers in an attempt to help them escape justice. 

 

Several buildings in and around Chaing Mai suffered minor damage, mainly cracks following yesterday's 4.1 earthquake, local authorities were checking schools, temples and other buildings in 25 districts.
