The development of the dual-track rail line is prompting some changes to the adjoining streetscape and the demolishment and pending update of some structures.

Most recently, municipality and railway officials have met with the operators of commercial premises to manage the need to widen the road adjacent to the new railway station entrance.

Some 14 properties are affected and are to be demolished after an inspection of the area taking place of a 100 metre section of the road adjacent to the Railway Station.

Reports indicate negotiations with the shop holders have been successful with the properties to be demolished before the end of this year.
