dilps
Are there any organic fruit and veg markets in Chiang Rai? Thanks!
HuskerDo2
There is no way to tell if the produce is organic or not. You'll be told whatever you want to hear. I just hope that if they tell you it's organic, that doesn't mean they take their morning "dump" in the garden for fertilizer.
Popular Post Lacessit
The term "organic" always amuses me. Fruit and veg that has been doused in pesticides is just as organic as the food which has not. AFAIK the only fruit and veg here that is specifically labelled organic/pesticide free is at Rimping supermarket in Chiang MAI. Rather a long haul for fresh produce. Personally, I don't worry about it. I just boil vegetables with plenty of water, and peel or wash fruit. At a guess, that gets rid of 90% of any pesticides present. 2
Stefan in Thailand
There is a farmer market close to the army golf course. https://goo.gl/maps/Q9nc8xVLXyPhnkf56 And a shop for this kind of products in Den Ha https://goo.gl/maps/4sBiiJuK3ykuXiqy5 Opposite of the indian temple is a restaurant KUNDA with vegan food. Ask Lena there. She should know best. https://g.page/kundacafe_official?share Enjoy Stefan
dilps
Thanks for the replies. Chiang Mai has a few organic markets, I was mainly hoping there might be something like that in Chiang Rai. It's not just a question of pesticides, it's the quality of the produce. I eat plant-based food and need good quality. I speak from experience of living in places with rubbish produce lacking nutrition. It's a deal breaker for me, unfortunately. novacova
It’s genetics, other than that very little will make you live longer. Though things such as alcohol, cigarettes and uncontrolled fatty diet will shorten it. Organic not organic, which ever tastes better is all I care about ???? But if strictly organic makes you feel good, then have at it and enjoy ???? Edited December 2, 2022 by novacova
