THE PUBLIC Health Ministry  issued an alert for the public not to believe fake news spreading on social media that the government is going to cancel New Year’s festival because the new Covid-19 strain Deltacron XBC is now spreading here, TV Channel 7 said.

 

The Disease Control Department said this information about Deltacron XBC strain which spreads easily and quickly is fake with the ministry monitoring all Covid strains and has not proposed that New Year’s festival be cancelled.

 

Scientists have their eyes on several ‘Deltacrons’— new Covid variants with the potential to attack the lungs like Delta and spread as easily as Omicron, according to an article by Fortune and published by Yahoo!News

 

Earlier this year, all eyes were on “Deltacron” — a Frankenvirus, of sorts, that combined Delta and Omicron, and potentially the worst traits of both.

Cancellation of NY is out of question, but at any time there can be limits on large gatherings. 
Each province governor can impose them at his own right if there are hotspots under his jurisdiction. They might do it at the last moment citing security, rather than covid, as not to scare incoming tourists. 
People were celebrating NY even 2 years ago by going away from bangkok to smaller cities where restaurants and bars were opened and even serving alcohol and partying.

Cancel New Year festivities with an election coming up... No way

I'm double masked and triple boosted but I'm still very concerned about this. Unfortunately I've got to wait another three weeks for my next jab. Maybe it's a good time not to leave the house unless absolutely necessary!
