The Seriphan gold shop about 200 meters for the Mae Sai police station was hit Saturday. Five baht weight in gold necklaces was snatched. This is worth about 150,000 baht. The thief dumped a Honda motorcycle with no plates at the Ton Kluay port on the Mae Sai river and swam across to Tachilek on the Myanmar side. Picture: Thai Rath Police in Mae Sai soon discovered that the thief is Seri Masaeng, 34, from Chanthaburi a recidivist who is into drugs and travels frequently into and out of Thailand. He had just been released from jail in a Tai Yai controlled area across the border.
