Football - In last night's last 16 matches at Qatar World Cup 2022 England demolished Senegal, the African Nations Cup winners with some clinical finishing from Henderson, Kane and Saka to win 3-0 and now have setup a mouth watering quarter final with France as Kylian Mbappe scored twice and Oliver Giroud was also on the scoresheet as the AC Milan striker scored his 52nd goal for France to claim the country's outright record, surpassing the great Thierry Henry in their 3-1 win over Poland. Robert Lewandowski scored a consolation goal for the Poles with a twice taken penalty. 

 

F1 - Former Formula 1 driver Patrick Tambay has died aged 73. The Frenchman, whose teams included McLaren, Ferrari and Renault, won two grands prix in a career of 114 race starts stretching from 1977 to 1986. He sadly had been suffering from Parkinson's Disease.

 

Cricket - England's first Test against Pakistan is set for a grandstand conclusion.  England set the hosts 343 to win in Rawalpindi as they finished on 80-2. Nathan Lyon took six wickets as Australia beat the West Indies by 164 runs in the first Test in Perth.
