Canada: Quebec makes oath to King optional for politicians

The Canadian province of Quebec has passed a law making an oath of allegiance to the monarch optional for members of the legislature.

The bill was introduced after the ascension of King Charles III, when three politicians refused to swear allegiance.

In October, Canada's federal parliamentarians overwhelmingly voted no to severing ties with the Crown.

    Indeed ! The British North America Act of 1867 was never signed by Quebec. The province even refused to sign the Constitution when the UK gave it back to Canada in 1982. The mascarade is over now. 

    Quebec really doesn't want to be part of Canada, but I don't blame them for this stunt.  My homeland deserves to be its own country, unencumbered by centuries of stupid tradition.

    I did mention some time ago that Charles should either not accept the crown, or abdicate shortly after. IMO Charles is not popular and such as this is just the start of attempts to remove the Crown from many countries.

    William on the other hand is popular and IMO the only one that can rescue the Crown from being disregarded.

    I know Charles has waited a long time for his chance to sit on the big chair, but IMO he is doing more to ruin the public perception of the Crown than he realises.
