The search for 31 crew members missing following the sinking of the HTMS Sukhothai 32 kilometers off the coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan on Sunday night has re focused its search  to an area south of the site where currents may have taken any survivors. The Sukhothai had been in service since 1987.


So far 75 people have been rescued from the vessel, 6 injured sailors were flown to hospital near Utapao airport.  However there was some confusion as to whether another cargo vessel may have also sunk.

 

Police raided locations in Chiang mai Surin and Chonburi where they seized large quantities of  firearms and ammunition from gun traders who were operating an illegal sales website. 


As well as firearms officers also seized luxury cars and Harley Davidson motorbikes worth around 50 million baht.


The minister of public health Mr Anutin yesterday assured concerned community groups that places of entertainment will not be allowed to extend their opening times by two hours, citing safety concerns on the roads. 


Several community groups made their concerns known at government house, where the minister made his statement on public safety.

 

Thai Airways International says it is considering adding 9 more aircraft to its fleet due to increased passenger demand. The airline plans to return several aircraft to service that have been parked up at suvarnabum airport since covid, and lease up to 4 Airbus A350-900s next year..
