A Malaysian OIL TANKER is reported to have rescued two Thai navy sailors floating in the sea, following the sinking of a Thai navy ship on Sunday,  both were said to be in good condition.

 
The Thai navy said 6 sailors were confirmed to have died and 23 are still missing.  In all 77 have been rescued, meanwhile families of the missing continue to await news.

The navy confirmed there were not enough life jackets on board, and will hold an inquiry to find out just how and why this tragedy took place.

 

Police in Khon Kaen arrested a drug dealer who previously served three jail terms, his wife was also arrested.   Officers found about 100,000 methamphetamine pills and other drugs in their apartment.
The dealer was previously released from prison in December last year.

 

A deputy leader of a small political Party, has been charged with being behind a drive-by shooting that killed two local politicians and wounded another last February in Nakhon Nayok.
Mr Prasop-chok was alleged to have hired the gunmen, who police apprehended earlier.

Severe weather continues to hit the far south, with some 64,400 households affected by flash floods and landslides in nine provinces. At least 3 deaths were reported.

Malaysia: The body of a small girl was found bringing the death toll to 25 with around 67 thousand residents taking shelter in relief centers following severe flooding and torrential rain across the north and central parts of the country.

 

Japan: heavy snow north west of tokyo stranded hundreds of cars and brought train services to a standstill, one man was reported to have died and several people were injured in the freezing conditions.
