my first visa run is due this month and i will be going to laos. do i need to obtain a visa for laos? any other info will be appreciated very much bye the way i have a non o visa. how long do i have to stay in laos? i will do the run on the 18th of this month. thanks

I suspect you will need a visa for Laos and can obtain at the border but you did not mention your nationality.

If you have a multi entry visa all you need to do is exit Thailand, obtain visa/entry to Laos, exit Laos, enter Thailand. Only takes a few minutes. If you have not been to Laos I would take a few hours, or days, to see a little and have some good French bread and local beer.

visa for laos can easily be obtained at the border. cost 30 USD (31?) or 1500 baht, so given an exchange rate of roughly 35 baht to the dollar it's cheaper to pay in USD. if you should decide to stay in laos for a few days (i strongly recommend "beerlao") you can pay in either lao kip, thai baht or USD.
