In his first interview since the death of former Pope Benedict XVI, Pope Francis spoke about his health, his critics and the future of the papacy.

 

He also criticized laws that criminalize homosexuality as unjust.

 

Pope Francis told the Associated Press that, while Catholic teaching holds that homosexual acts are a "sin," being homosexual is not a "crime."

But he did say that it was a 'sin'.  A sin against whom exactly, the mythical creature that these deluded people believe in? Surely if there was to be a God (there isn't of course) then he invented gayness, so it can't possibly be a 'sin', or is that too logical for these religious misfits? Never trust a celibate in a dress who wears red shoes and goes on to state that being gay is a sin.

you seem to have trouble with the "logic"...

1) "Almighty" God created everything "Good" in the world.

2) "Sin" is exclusively human's fault, because "Almighty" God has a huge blind spot he calls "Free Will".

3) Therefore everything "Bad" in the world cannot be / is not "Almighty"God's fault.

4) So "almighty" God could not have created Gay-ness because it is a "Sin"

unless he was doing bad things for his own amusement because he is bored........

 

You see?  Easy.... All you need is blind unquestioning faith....

You're kind of missing the point. In some countries where the Catholic Church is powerful, gay sex is illegal and can result in serious punishment. In the past, the Church opposed the elimination of these laws. So the Pope's words undercut those Catholic clergy who still support continuing the branding of gay sex as a crime.  It should make removing those laws from the books a lot easier.                              

So Pell was a good guy then?

I often miss the point where religions are concerned, especially the Catholic Church, mainly because there is no point to them. They damage humanity at almost every turn and the supposed  'good' that they do is swamped by that damage. Stephen Fry puts it far better than I ever could in this video.

Well, if you were a gay person in one of those largely Catholic countries, you'd be a lot less likely to miss the point.
