BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has announced new measures to enhance human rights protection in the country.

Speaking on Wednesday, the prime minister said the government is working to improve public health and pensions, reform prisons, and deter sexual assault and forced disappearances.

Gen. Prayut stated that a project to strengthen the public health system utilizing cloud computing was recently approved by the Cabinet, citing the significance of human security as a critical factor for Thailand’s future. This enables hospitals to track each patient’s medical history, including diagnoses and treatments, allowing patients to receive care at their preferred locations.

The Cabinet also approved ministerial regulations to increase the National Savings Fund’s pension scheme to encourage people to save more for retirement, as well as passing legislation to increase penalties for repeat sexual assault offenders and another law that increases penalties for those linked to forced disappearances.

According to Gen Prayut, these laws aim to ensure safety in society and protect human rights in line with international principles.

The prime minister noted that the legal system is also undergoing more reforms, including the acceleration of court proceedings and the reduction of prison terms for those convicted of minor offenses.

If he wants that done then they need to start treating all migrant workers equally and not as people who are looked down upon by the government and the Thai people who look at them as lesser thans.  On top of that this government needs to show some backbone and stop supporting the murdering Myanmar Junta and get off the fence and stop being neutral when it comes to Russia.....of course it's all about money.

We fully support human rights, but we don't support any of the rights of the youth to protest, to open micro breweries, and to brew good, tasty, exciting craft beer, taking the nation into the 21st century.

Start with the Basics.

It's a Human Right that the military not overthrow elected governments, not control the writ of the people's constitutions and treat Thai people as Citizens of the State and not as Subjects.

Junta inspired human rights and equity, it astounds me that Prayut hasn't won the Nobel Peace Prize yet.

So folks are supposed to be able to live on 20 baht per day. No wonder the parents and grandparents end up living with their children.

Regular pay for anyone not volleys educated and foing menial jobs averages between 9k -12k Thb per month. Teachers who went to college get not much more, so it's no wonder folks want that government job so they can get more as well as feeding at the trough through the main funding scheme here known as corruption.

Health and safety are just a imaginary vision here for many.

But wait they get 30 baht medical care, what more do they want, is what the upper echelon says.
