Is there a law here?

 

Cant remember what I had on my old truck, so what do you think works best?

 

20 front and back with 40 on the sides

40 front and back with 60 on the sides.

If you plan to drive at night, then 20/40.

40 in the front greatly reduces your vision at night time.

In case you plan to drive nearly only at daytime then 40/60 is ok.

 

But I'd put 20 on the front and the front side windows, and 40 on the rear and rear side windows.

Sensible authorities in many countries of the world realise that you cannot have enough forward visibility especially when driving at night and therefore ban front windscreen tint.

 

I would suggest a 15cm strip of tint on the top of the windscreen would be an optimal solution.

Make sure you understand what the percentages mean...   In most of the world visible light transmission (VLT) is used.  So 70% tint means 70% VLT and 30% of light is blocked. So a Thai '30% tint' is actually 70% VLT...i.e. this being Thailand the figures are often quoted the opposite way around..

Anyway, keep in mind that the glass from the factory often already has some tint..

I'd suggest no less than 70% VLT on the front screen and 50% on side windows. Personally I don't like any tint on the front screen.
