An arrest warrant was issued yesterday for the former head of the Department of Special Investigation and three others, on behalf of former prime minister Abhisit  Vejajiva and Suthep Thaug-suban, for wrongdoing  
They say the three  unfairly pushed to press murder charges against them in connection with their handling of the violent demonstrations in 2010.


Mr Tarit attempted to defer the case for a 7th time, however the court set a new trial date for 24th March.

The man behind an online lottery platform has been charged with over pricing, 


The man Mr Pan-tha-wat  denied the charges saying “i didn’t sell overpriced tickets’ there are no reasons to confess,


He accused police of intimidating his clients by contacting them and encouraging them to be a witness for the prosecution. 


Mr Pan-tha-wat complained that his bank accounts had been frozen.

 

670 illegal workers from Myanmar who had been detained for between 4 and 6 months  held a protest in Ranong, demanding to be repatriated back to their homeland. In response, Myanmar authorities visited Ranong to carry out the largest repatriation of this kind. The departure of the first batch of workers was witnessed by officials from both Myanmar and Ranong, at the Ranong Customs House Pier.


Yesterday, the EV Board (also known as the national committee on electronic vehicle policy) agreed to lower the excise tax on EV batteries from 8% to 1%, and provide a 24 billion baht subsidy to the EV battery production industry.


The prices of EV batteries and Electric vehicles will see a fall, which should boost the country's EV manufacturing industry. 

 

Prime minister Prayut has been asked to explain a possible private use of 2 F16 fighter jets last summer. 
It’s understood an air force chief used the aircraft to fly over the sea to pay tribute to his late’ fathers ashes which were scattered at sea. The PM was asked to provide a clear and truthful explanation of events.


The retail price of diesel will be reduced by 50 satang per litre, from February 15th. the new price will be 34.5 baht per litre, This will be the first price reduction in 7 months. 


The government has been subsidizing fuel prices by reducing the amount of duty it takes in order to keep the price below 35 baht. The new price will be maintained until 20th May.
