The state of emergency in 3 border areas in the south has been extended by a further 3 months, and will run from 20th march to the 19th June.

 

The Law reform group ‘iLaw’ says some 100 thousand volunteers will be on hand to 
observe the upcoming elections and monitor the vote count at polling stations nationwide, on May 7th.

 

A young kindergarten teacher was shot twice in the chest yesterday by a man believed to be her former boyfriend,  the man then fled directly after the shooting. The teacher was seriously injured and taken to hospital, police are looking for the shooter.

 

A court sentenced a young male to two years in prison yesterday reduced from four years, after he confessed to being in possession of an explosive device during a political protest back in 2021,


The man named chakri will appeal the verdict and was granted bail.

 

The government has allocated the 2nd Tuesday each February to be “Thailands’ Safer Internet day’ the idea is to promote safety online for young internet users.

 

Phukets immigration department says almost 7,600 Russian nationals have applied to extend the length of their stay on the island. And around 32, thousand visitors intend to extend their stay.
