Ok Three months into classes and just have hit a point where I can't absorb anymore, recall things that I know I was taught and studied. Anyone else experience this and what approach did you take to overcome it?

Here are some ideas in a related learning experience: http://www.esl-school.com/archives/2006/03...ing_plateau.php. Learning plateaus and burn-out happen in many areas. Forgetting and recapitulating are common experiences; I would suggest a Buddhist response: don't be anxious about your perceived difficulties. Anxiety will get in the way of learning. Relax; if you neet to take a break, do so. If you need to go over old lessons, do so. The older you are - or anywhere past the sixth grade - the more difficulty you will experience learning a new language. However, wherever you are in your learning experience is good. Getting there is more important than reaching goals; enjoy the journey. Enjoy the beauty, fun, and culture embedded in the language; this will make your journey easier.

I wish you the best of luck.
