A soldier and his friend attacked several motorcycle taxi riders with several small homemade explosive devices yesterday, 4 delivery riders were slightly injured with shrapnel and taken to hospital.


The soldier was detained and explained he was upset because the riders had parked in front of his girlfriend's shop. The soldier's friend managed to evade police. 

 

TWO female activists on hunger strike since January 18th  ended their protest fast over the weekend after 53 days.  to press Tawan and Bam posted they brought their strike to an end so they could continue to protest for the release of 21 political detainees, both women will spend the next few days recovering in hospital. 

 

Thailands State Railway’s has begun seeking companies to bid for the development of retail space at ‘Krung Thep Aphiwat Central’, otherwise known as Bangkok’s Central Railway Station at Bang sue, the development will see shops, restaurants and accommodation at the new station and at stations along the red line.

Local resident and politician Korn Chati-kava-nid, joined over 200 people and swam 2 kilometers across Songkhla Lake yesterday.


Mr Korn, whose political party is campaigning in the area, said it was the second time he had participated in the annual event to help promote tourism, local food and campaign against dumping garbage into the lake.
 
A wildlife sanctuary in kanchanaburi reports seeing 6 indochinese  tigers over the last year  for the first time in 30 years. The images including a mother and her two cubs were recorded on cameras placed in the sanctuary. 
An official said their main concern now was to ensure their safety.

North Korea test-fired two strategic cruise missiles from a submarine yesterday,
The north reported its launch confirmed the reliability of the system and tested the underwater offensive operations of submarine units that are capable of carrying nuclear weapons. 


South Korean and American troops are due to begin 11 days of joint drills, dubbed "Freedom Shield 23".

South Korea is set to bring in a record-high 110,000 migrant workers this year to ease the country’s shortage of  labour. The migrants will take up low paid jobs unwanted by south korean workers.

Fine weather to continue over the weekend with some cloud and winds in the north on sunday and into next week.

 

The Thai met office says
winds will sweep across the north  And should help reduce the amount of smog from fires.
