INN Thai Caption: 10 victims of "Thip Sattahip" lottery swindle lost nearly 2 million baht

INN reported that ten victims of an alleged online lottery fraudster referred to as "Thip Sattahip" contacted them after Sattahip police in eastern Thailand failed to prosecute.

INN said the victims had all the evidence required after they transferred money to an online vendor who disappeared with their money and issued no tickets.

The sum involved is nearly 2 million baht.

The media said the trader was still selling online and crowing about the police's inability to arrest them.

They called on the Sattahip police to arrest the person responsible.

It seems like maybe the Police involved with the sellers in some way .....???? winking eye

Bht 2M divided by the 10 victims = Bht 200k each.

Can you apply for that many tickets online?

Lotteries, state, legal, illegal, online or run from roadside stalls or itinerant vendors are massive cash generators in Thailand.

The Police take a close interest in massive cash generators in Thailand...

You cannot be a trader unless you’re connected. If you’re connected you probably won’t be prosecuted. If you’re the victim you’re probably screwed unless you get help from that whistleblower guy. The trader would have some sort of a registration number or something that could identify him.

Obviously the scammer is operating with police help or perhaps owners as is usually the case here, which is why they aren't interested in investigating themselves.

You can apply for the tickets online to an anonymous seller, paying up-front...

getting them is the issue.

The real reason why the State Lottery is as bent as a nine-bob note.
