Abortion pills banned in Wyoming as Texas judge considers nationwide decision

Wyoming has become the first US state to ban abortion pills after its governor signed a bill that made prescribing or selling them illegal.

Violating it is punishable by up to six months in jail and a $9,000 fine.

Women "upon whom a chemical abortion is performed or attempted" will not be prosecuted.

I find it amusing that they pass a law, but won't prosecute the person who actually breaks the law and has an abortion.  I wonder how that works other than to scare the <deleted> out of any medical personnel from providing any care.

So, a Wyoming lady crosses a border, gets the prescription and then goes home and takes it.  There isn't much they can do.

I do hope that whoever the future Republican nominee is, that they endorse what Wyoming has done. We saw how well the abortion issue played for the Republicans in the midterms. It's going to be interesting to see how they wriggle on that issue.
