CrunchWrapSupreme
Will they please round up all these lazy young men in my village, and the few bar girls who refuse to go back post-Covid, and take them to go be Pattaya tour guides?

You will only come here for holidays, spend your money and go home. If you insist on residing here you will not work in a normal fashion, only in those occupations that we say you can.

How about the Thai "guides" becoming fluent in foreign languages and perhaps even study up on whatever attraction they are going to haul the rubes to? So they could say more than "There's the ice factory. Nice place to get some thinking done" and so on... 2 1

Thai guides will only take visitors to pre-determined locations, shops, restaurants etc to ensure of their little kick-backs. 2 1

'Foreign' guides do exactly the same. 1

Yes, I had forgotten about that side of the game..... mind you, Chinese guides likely do similar, taking them to Chinese owned businesses... (Mike's Shopping Plaza springs to mind).

The jobs are just stolen to keep control and money tight. Many students in better BKK HS graduate with reasonable skills in English, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean even German. The problem is this students have bigger dreams than working as tour guides.
