A former police sergeant-major who was found guilty of stealing over 150 guns from a police station in Nonthaburi over a period of two years has been sentenced to 270 years in prison reduced to a maximum of 50 years. The sentence includes life imprisonment for theft committed while a state official, as well as five years for each of 28 counts of firearm possession. 

 

The MRT's construction of the western extension of the Orange train Line may finally proceed after the Supreme Court overturned a previous lower court  ruling regarding a bidding dispute. Alleged irregularities had caused the construction to stall, but the recent decision may allow the project to move forward.

Once completed, the orange line is expected to carry over 400,000 people per day .

Cyber Crime Police officers carried out raids in five provinces which  resulted in the arrest of nine suspects who were alleged to have enticed people to gamble online and get involved with  money laundering.

The police operation cracked a gambling network and seized more than one billion baht worth of assets during investigations.

 

Authorities ordered urgent action to stop the spread of the massive  fire that engulfed forests on two mountains in Nakhon Nayok and was spreading towards a third hilltop.
