Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) has warned consumers not to buy or eat a specific batch of roasted Nori seaweed, claiming that the product is unsafe for consumption as it contains a high level of cadmium.

Songkran Under Consideration as Intangible Cultural Heritage

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Culture announced that the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has approved the inclusion of the Songkran Festival to its tentative list of Intangible Cultural Heritages (ICH) in December this year. If approved, Songkran will become Thailand’s fourth intangible cultural heritage.

Challenges to revised constituency boundary mapping dismissed

A crash killed a Pattaya couple last night, photo by The Pattaya News.

 

Last night, a couple from Pattaya lost their lives in a motorcycle accident. The deceased were identified as Santisuk Sae-tan, a 31 year old man, and Chatchawan Kangwanwuthikul, a 31 year old woman. The tragic incident occurred at approximately 8pm on a road situated in front of Khao Mai Kaew temple.

Thai man stabs wife 21 times before driving into Chao Phraya River

A Thai man stabbed his wife to death in Lopburi province, central Thailand, today before attempting to commit suicide by driving his Chevrolet pickup truck into the Chao Phraya River in Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya province. However, the killer was saved by one of his relatives who happened to be fishing at the riverbank.

Army Transportation Dept. asked to turn over an alleged hacker to police

Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has sought cooperation from the Army Transportation Department by handing over to the police a sergeant major (second class) who claimed to have access to the personal data of about 55 million Thai people, which he allegedly offered for sale.

Thai military delays date for new conscripts to report so they can vote on May 14th

The Ministry of Defence has postponed the date for new conscripts to report for military service to May 15th, to allow them to cast their ballots in the general election on May 14th, according to General Kongcheep Tantravanich, spokesman forthe ministry.
