Chuwit vows to continue his crusade against the Bhumjaithai Party and marijuana despite order

Bangkok businessman and activist Chuwit Kamolvisit at the Davis Hotel in Sukhumvit on Thursday where he railed at attempts to suppress his anti-marijuana campaign and his crusade to have the electorate shun the Bhumjaithai Party for its policy of legalising the drug. At times wearing a blindfold and a tape on his mouth, he told reporters that a reported court order against him to desist from pursuing the campaign was an infringement on his constitutional rights and vowed to appeal it to a higher court while promising to comply with any final court ruling.

 

Activist plans to appeal the court order on Friday and to stage a public rally at Victory Monument at 5 pm in his campaign calling on voters to shun the Bhumjaithai Party.

A prominent Thai doctor is a suspect in a case surrounding a Chinese surrogacy gang, Nation Thailand reported yesterday. This news comes after police raided a five-storey building in Bangkok’s Silom area on Tuesday, and found that a gang of Chinese and Myanmar nationals were holding two Chinese men for ransom.
