Yahoo Mail Does Not Delete Messages

Featured Replies

Again in Thailand, my Yahoo mail accounts are refusing to delete received messages, or to put them in spam, and when I try to reply, it creates a blank template for sending new messages, instead of bringing up the message and sender to whom I'm replying. Also, when I try to send my reply, it will take me back to the blank template several times, without sending the message. When the same thing happened last year, it seemed to be fixed by changing my browser from IE to Mozilla. Now, it does the same thing with either browser.

If I delete my cookies, what else gets deleted with it? Please, if you wish to solve my problem, do not use technical terms. I cannot live without yahoo mail. I have a four year old HP computer made in Thailand, and I use incredibly slow caterpillars and snails on a dialup modem in surburban Chiang Mai. Thank you.

What browser are you using? Try using another and see if the problem persists.

I still have the problem that both on Internet Explorer and Mozilla browsers, my Yahoo mail accounts both have repeated problems not deleting spam, not moving read messages to other folders, not going to reply mode, and not sending the message when I reply. Now it's like 5 attempts to accomplish one command. Can anybody give some advice to a non-technical person? Yahoo Help is helpless. Thank you.

You should try to access and manage your Yahoo Mail account from a different PC with a different ISP connection, say at an internet cafe. This would narrow down the cause of your problem(s) to your specific PC and internet connection.

I suspect this is being caused by a less than ideal internet connection or by problems at your ISP.

How long have you experienced problems?

You should clear all cache, cookies, history, etc. (in FF: Tools, Clear Private data).

Are you able to access, and work with, any other similar websites?

How do you access Yahoo Mail? mail.yahoo.com? www.yahoo.com? my.yahoo.com? Maybe try 209.191.92.114 (as the URL)?

What revs of IE and FF? You could try deinstalling and reinstalling.

I suspect you are using Yahoo mail BETA. If you are, then switch back to original. I started getting similar issues a few weeks ago.

Thank you all, very much. Let's see. I don't know which versions of Firefox or IE are on my computer. I will try to go to a fast internet shop and try to manage my accounts from there. As I may have mentioned, my connection speed is abysmal - less than 98 kbs at best.

I think I have BETA on at least one account, because I do my Yahoo Finance with the BETA features. The other account doesn't have BETA, and it makes the same errors. It sometimes takes five minutes to send a reply, having to go back and send it again and again.

I accessed my Firefox settings to adjust them., and it appears that is doing the trick. I can now delete as many as 15 emails at once, and when I reply to a message, it doesn't get hung up on the blank template now.

Thanks a million.
