About 150 firefighters have been mobilised to control forest fires, which have reignited in Thailand’s Nakhon Nayok province, as helicopters were also deployed in an attempt to prevent fires from spreading into Khao Yai National Park.

Fire and water trucks have been sent to local communities not far from Khao Nang Dam, where fires are reported to have broken out again and are spreading towards Khao Tabaek, about 500 metres from the border with Cha-om sub-district of Saraburi province.

Fire breaks have been constructed along the route in Ban Wang Ree-Chong Yang Daeng, which is outside the national park, to prevent fires from spreading into the park.
