Change of name after divorce

Featured Replies

My Thai ex wife informs me that after we divorced she has to by Thai law change her family name, she took my surname when we married.  Can anyone tell me if this is true please.

For the Thai national, the decree must be recorded in the amphur nearest to his/her residence. Thai women likewise need to report the divorce and have their names changed back to their maiden name.

Correct.

Why do you care?

"Can anyone tell me if this is true please."  She already did, you don't believe her?  No wonder she left you.
