How to switch off the emergency alert on iPhone and Android

Not sure why you would would want to turn it off but if you don't have your phone on you wont get it ????

I have made sure that my phone with UK SIM is switched on. I want to experience this.

You won't unless your in the vicinity of a UK mobile phone mast.  It's not sent to individual numbers but to all (switched on) phones within the range of a transmitter when the warning signal is sent.
