FORMER MP and graft-buster Chuwit Kamolvisit took his anti-cannabis campaign to Palang Pracharath Party’s big campaign rally at the Thai-Japanese Stadium Friday afternoon (May 12) and was pleased with party boss Prawit Wongsuwan’s stance that it should only be free for medical use, Matichon newspaper said.

 

Chuwit waited to question Prawit in front of Sports Building 2 and the latter came out to talk to him after he had finished giving his speech.

 

He asked Prawit how he would resolve the cannabis problem if he became the prime minister and the latter replied that he only supported the use of marijuana for medical purposes not free distribution.

I know of a bunch of Israelis who are planning to set up shops in planting, cultivating/growing high quality weed up country Thailand in large quantities, do they know something we don't?

When I discussed marijuana for glaucoma with my optometrist she looked at me and said that in no way did it help with glaucoma. I have a feeling that if this is the way to go for our beloved pot that it will become impossible to get it accepted by conservative doctors as a remedy. 
Geez... Thailand is really going backwards if they recriminalise it.

IMO if we have a legal use of Cannabis it does at least three things:

1/ It removes the sales from the underworld, so reducing criminal activity.

2/ it provides the Government with taxes to pay higher wages

3/ It replaces alcohol for some, reducing road deaths and alcohol related killings/madness.

This is enough for its legality to be permanent in every case.

Doesn't have to be legal for recreational use, just decriminalized.   If irresponsible and smoking in public, then a summary offence & small fine.   Before you faced a prison sentence for basically a victimless crime.
