THE MOVE FORWARD party yesterday proposed talks with senators to address their concerns regarding the progressive party's campaign policies. 


This is aimed at gaining support from a majority of the 250 senators, alongside the majority of the 500 MPs, to vote in favor of Move Forward leader Pita Lim-jaroen-rat as prime minister. 


The Move Forward secretary acknowledged that the appointed senators may be divided and undecided on whether to vote for or against or abstain from voting on Pita's nomination for prime minister.

 

Outgoing Prime Minister Prayut kept quiet about his political future after his party's defeat on Sunday… while Former Democrat party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva looks likely to return to the top position following the resignation of Jurin Lak-sana-wisit, the democrats won just 26 seats.

 

Thaksin Shinawat hailed the Move Forward Party as disruptors who mastered social media, and said, quote” ageing army generals, central to years of turmoil’ , should retire with dignity.

 

Two police officers were shot and wounded in an ambush in a southern district of Yala  yesterday.


The officers were in a police pickup truck on route to a police station,  their vehicle was at a U-turn when gunmen opened fire, the bandits escaped and both officers were taken to hospital 

 

A Three year-old girl reported missing for two days was found dead close to her home in Narathiwat.
The youngster's naked body was found by a local resident yesterday morning.


The girls father says he had been serving a customer who left quickly, he then realized his daughter was missing.   Police are investigating the incident.

South Korea’s top opposition leader Lee Jae-myung yesterday challenged Japanese officials to make good on their safety assertions by drinking treated radioactive water that is scheduled to be released from the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant into the ocean.


Lee made the remarks as a team of South Korean experts plan to visit the Fukushima plant to hopefully evaluate the safety of the treated water.

 

Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi said yesterday the government does not have immediate plans to declare a heatwave emergency despite the recent hot weather.
