A house collapse in Samut Sakhon province left five people trapped under the wreckage, prompting swift action from rescue officials. Two of the victims suffered severe injuries, while preliminary investigation reveals that the house condition had been in bad shape, posing a hazard to its inhabitants.

Authorities in Samut Sakhon were alerted to a single-storey wooden house collapse within Soi Thanom Suk Samran, Lam Yai sub-district on June 6 at around 2am. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and found five people trapped under the debris. Among the victims were 77 year old Somproung (surname withheld) and 50 year old Orasah (surname withheld), who sustained severe injuries to the head and shoulder, respectively. Both the injured were taken to Somdej Phra Phutthaloetla Hospital for treatment.

Initial investigation indicated that five people resided in the house, including the injured Somproung and Orasah; 52 year old Songkran; 32 year old Arisara, who made a living selling grilled squid; and 15 year old Suthirat, a student at a local school. The family was asleep when the house suddenly collapsed. Fortunately, there were no fatalities.
