A truck veered off the road and crashed into a roadside shop in Chon Buri province early this morning, leaving three people injured and one dead. The incident took place on the 331 highway near the Ta Le Thong Market when the truck driver lost control of the vehicle after a car cut in front of him.

Upon arriving at the scene, the authorities found the establishment in disarray, with scattered debris on the road. The four-wheeled Isuzu truck was heavily damaged at its front. Four people were injured, including three women and one man. First responders provided initial medical assistance and took the victims to Laem Chabang and Amata Hospitals for further treatment. The owner of the shop, a food vendor named Sarinya Suwannasri, said she had been closing her restaurant when she heard the truck’s loud braking noise. She managed to run away, while her father sustained minor injuries and two other workers were hurt.

Subsequently, an employee from a neighbouring shop, 41 year old Cambodian national Rie Yon, suffered serious injuries and later died at the hospital around 5am. Authorities plan to further investigate and question everyone involved. The truck driver claimed a sedan cut in front of his vehicle, causing him to lose control and crash into the shop, injuring several people.

I passed one of these Isuzu vans on Wed night doing 120.

The only way to deal with them is limit the top speed of these vehicles to 80 or 90. Then the people that operate them cannot harm others with their lack of competence or immaturity.
