Jealous man fatally stabs girlfriend, attempts suicide, later found injured in sugarcane field

A 30 year old jealous Thai man, identified as Karun, fatally stabbed his 45 year old girlfriend Nantharat before driving their vehicle into a pond, and finally, attempting to end his own life.

 

The incident, which took place amidst a sugarcane plantation, was later discovered by local villagers who reported it to the authorities. The victim and the assailant both hailed from Lopburi province.

 

Police Senior Sergeant Major Rattanadol Waedkratok of Lopburi‘s Peniad Police Station was notified yesterday about a woman found dead in a submerged pickup truck in a pond located in a sugarcane plantation in Kok Samrong district. Along with Assistant Police Major Phukarawik Chotiksathaen, the Deputy Chief of Lopburi Provincial Police Investigation Division, and volunteer divers from Kok Samrong Rescue Association, he arrived on the scene and discovered the grey Isuzu pickup with registration plate 3 ฒภ 76xx BKK.

The woman, later identified as Nantharat, had suffered multiple stab wounds to her chest and torso. A kitchen knife was also found at the scene.
