‘Election Commissioners Must Go To Jail’ Hashtag Tops Twitter Trend

“ELECTION COMMISSIONERS MUST GO TO JAIL” hashtag has topped today’s (June 10) Twitter trend in Thailand.

Today’s top Twitter hashtag saying “Election commissioners must go to jail” has ultimately underscored public sentiment against the highly contentious acts of the seven-member Election Commission

desperately trying to find fault with Move Forward leader/prime minister-designate Pita Limjaroenrat.

Such an exponential, concerted expression of public indignation and displeasure with the polling agency on the daily Twitter trend has apparently followed yesterday’s news reports that the commissioners finally resolved to look into allegations that Pita had been “well aware” of his having been disqualified by law to run for MP in the May 14 election due to his holding of a 0.0035% share in an off-air ITV channel.

Pure insanity to push this. The only possible reason is to spark street demonstration to give cause for yet another coup.

If there is another coup Thailand is sunk.

Fake documents surfacing about Pita's shares being sent to the EC for their fake decision!  tick tick tick boom????

  • Popular Post

The EC installed by Prayut since 2014 has fallen to its lowest level. Unfortunately, this EC is not as neutral as it should be. It's just ridiculous. Instead of thinking about the good of the country, the EC gets bogged down in hair-splitting, outlandish accusations and unnecessary threats.

The EC is just another amry installed, super corrupt illigotomate organization, designed to suppress the will of the people.

A warning to them. Everything has changed. Thais want to move forward. Tamper with the election results at your own peril. Pita must prevail.

Investigated for their gross incompetence and then fired or locked up.   First, they investigated Pita twice and certified him ok to run for office in 2019 and 2023.  Now, when he wins, suddenly he is not fit for office?  Ridiculous and shameful.

Next, they let the equally ridiculous stock shares accusation percolate for weeks before announcing the accusation was filed too late--that could and should have been done the day it was filed and it should not have even been accepted.  I suspect they were holding off until they came up with a way to use it themselves.  Filing late could have been excused away--they really have no shame about anything so that wouldn't have stopped them.  Disgusting--keep their feet to the fire.

The decision has already been made as to what new government Thailand will have, just need to organise how to present it to the people.

Yes they let MF discredit themself more, till everyone see what a bunch of incompetence they are and than PTP present themself as the less radical party of reason.
The others will support them and it is a good democratic solution.

Yes and no. The only thing that has changed is what the people want, and they don't count. "Pita must prevail" meets "the families must prevail" (one of them of course being the one we cannot mention).

Only the families have the big nasty weapons. The families do not have to give a 4x about the people.

I hope the new Government will make a new constitution and ban all these so called committees, senators and rules that make no sense..

It looks like a significant number (5 ~ 10) of MFP MPs-elect will get red or yellow cards, and assuming PTP have none, that would swing the majority party to PTP, who will then form a government with BJT and "the uncles parties".

The violations include not having voted in local elections (one assumes Bangkok local election).

Well done and keep it up.

Make big waves and cause international interest in the scandle as it unfolds

The lively and so lovely jackets Will stay on the screen..

The EC is in an awkward position. The law says no shares in media companies. It's not like they have much choice. If they decide holding media shares on behalf of someone else (AKA Thaksin's maid) is an honest mistake all well and good.

If there was a coup it would by by an Army which OWNS Tv and radio stations, no media shares there!

the EC should be jailed.

what happened to the investigating into the 3 mill donation to Palang Pracharath Party,  no word

this whole election is just a farce, goverment not installed untill after 3 month plus

Prayut is pissing himself laughing at the thai people

No more inane than the cooking show nonsense in 2008. What’s very different now is that the publics willingness to accept such nonsense has entirely dissipated.
