If they are the Thais haven't discovered them yet. Salmon and Trout? No, but there are plenty of other species in Thailands waters. Angling is a hobby of mine which I do for enjoyment and relaxation. I have no interest in eating my catch, I let them go, so I'm not concerned about which species I catch. I can highly recommend the angling in Thailand, although as you point out there may not be many opportunities for fly fishing.
