PM elect Pita Lim-jaroen-rat addressed  crowds outside of Central world in bangkok yesterday afternoon.
He told supporters he would "not step back" ahead of the parliamentary vote this week that will determine if he will lead the country.


He added that if the vote went against him on Thursday, it would be an unforgivable affront to Thai democracy. 

The Thai navy has set up a panel which looks likely to recommend a Chinese engine to be used as a substitute for the original German made engine for a new submarine being manufactured in China.


The German engine supplier had refused to allow their engines to be used in subs sold to a third party such as Thailand.

 

The government has revealed plans to substantially expand Don Muang airport with a third phase, plans are at the design stage and construction is expected to  begin in 2025 with completion in 2029  at a cost of more than 36 billion baht.

Villagers in a sugar plantation near Cha-Am found an old 60 mm mortar bomb, if the mortar had exploded it would have been destructive over a radius of around 20 meters.


Villagers were using tractors to prepare the land for planting sugar cane when they discovered the device.
Explosives officers were called to remove and dispose of the mortar.

North Korea has denounced what it called a move by the United States to introduce a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine to waters near the Korean peninsula, saying it creates a situation that brings a nuclear conflict closer to reality.


North Korea also claimed US reconnaissance planes recently violated its air space.
