Chainsaw link found in German businessman murder, family receives 1.25 million baht from stolen funds

In a recent murder case involving a German businessman, investigators have identified a tool shop in Pattaya that sold a chainsaw used in the grim crime. The police have closely followed the trail of money involving a sum of 1.2 million baht (US$34,682) returned to the victim’s family so far.

Ex-farm chicken eggs to go up to 4 baht each from Friday

Government Puts Household “Net Energy Metering” Plan on Hold

BANGKOK (NNT) - The government has decided to postpone the implementation of the Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme, which allows households with rooftop solar panels to sell excess electricity back to the utility. Instead, consumers will continue to sell their surplus electricity at a fixed rate of 2.20 baht per unit.

Cyber patrol corners notorious online fraudster who caused 2 million baht losses

A cyber patrol unit successfully arrested an infamous online fraudster, a 32 year old woman from Roi Et province. The joint investigation yesterday tracked her down, resulting in her arrest under several warrants from different provinces. Her modus operandi was primarily carrying out fraudulent activities online, causing significant distress and loss to innocent social media users.

Thai teen lies in coma after alleged police shooting: Family seeks justice

The relatives of a 14 year old boy are seeking justice after he was allegedly shot in the head by a police officer in Phetchabun province, Thailand. Together with a social justice advocate, the boy’s aunt, 56 year old Monnat Pa Kaew, and his mother, 40 year old Eum Phon Somsri, reported the case to the Central Investigative Bureau today.

Thai ‘Dark Side Club’ operator nabbed for gambling promotions and explicit content

He confessed to operating for several years, having earned up to 100,000 baht (US$2,892) per month at its peak. The arrest was conducted today by an esteemed team of Royal Thai Police (RTP) officers.

The national traffic police dismantled an operation selling fake red licence plates across Thailand. Two suspects have been apprehended, one of whom is reportedly a government officer. The suspects were captured following a raid on a residence yielding substantial evidence. The apprehension comes on the back of numerous reports of cars with fraudulent red plates evading toll booth fees.

Speedboat linked to German broker’s murder seized in Pattaya raid

Pattaya cops confiscated a speedboat owned by a main suspect in the brutal murder of German businessman Hans Peter Mack. The suspect, 52 year old Olaf Thorsten Brinkmann, is implicated in the murder of the 62 year old German property tycoon. Police believe that Brinkmann might have planned to use the speedboat to dispose of Mack’s butchered remains in the ocean.

Bloody accident on Asia Highway: Fortune teller killed

A tragic accident occurred midday yesterday in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, resulting in the death of a 61 year old fortune teller. En route to visit both her daughter and ailing mother in Bangkok, her motorbike taxi was struck by an 18-wheel truck whilst crossing between parallel lanes.

Woman arrested with 2.3kg of cocaine in her backpack at Bangkok airport
