Thailand’s Constitutional Court has scheduled a meeting on August 3rd to consider whether to accept for consideration the ombudsman’s petition for the court to rule on the constitutionality of the July 19th decision by parliament, by a majority vote, to reject Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat’s renomination for the prime ministerial post.

According to legal experts, the Constitutional Court can either choose to reject the ombudsman’s petition, accept the petition for consideration, or accept the petition and issue an injunction to suspend parliament’s prime ministerial selection process, until there is a ruling from the court regarding the petition.

House Speaker and Parliament President Wan Muhamad Noor Matha has already ordered the cancellation of the parliamentary meeting to select the prime minister this Thursday, pending a ruling from the court.

All rather too late, Pheu Thai now have the upper hand, and boy will they use it.

There appears to be no urgency with regard to a rudderless country!  Most democratic countries would have taken action one way or another by now in order to get the country moving again!

Was there an  effective rudder for the previous 9 years, or did the country simply drift with a wooden figurehead on the prow?

Later the ministers will gather for a sponsored silly walk over the hill to the asylum and we can all wake up with "Pita" as PM who was voted for! is my favored choice in this never ending saga ????

So, too busy with other more important matters than the future of the country to get to this before Aug. 3rd?  Pathetic.
