Hello all

I am going to Thailand on vacation the 1st of Aug and i would like to take my Metal detector with me.

I am spending 5 days in Bangkok then flying to Koh Samui.

Are there any laws pertaining to detectors and detecting on the beaches of Koh Samui?

Even if there is i think it will be a great vacation anyway

I have seen a few people detecting on pattaya beach with no problem,s (thai's and foreigner's)

Hi all

Well if you have seen other people detecting,then i should have no problem unless these people have permits.

And why should i find alot of brass??

Maybe i should get in touch with the Consulat in Berlin and ask them.(Just in case)

They didnt have permits i chatted to a guy from usa he was on holiday and said that not to much good stuff on the beach to many beer bottle top's discrim them out and you knock out gold

I have a stupid question for you. I have been looking for Tiger Stripe cammo Uniform. (from the Vietnam war).Do you know of anywhere in Bangkok where i might find any?

Also im looking to buy some jewelry.can you recommend any places that sell (REAL GOLD) at good prices?

i only know of one army surplus store in future park rangsit 3rd floor.thai gold shops 1st floor

but there are loads of thai gold shops in bangkok closer to your hotel maybe a reader who lives in bangkok might know of some otheres army stores , i will have a look tomorrow at the surplus store while im there

ps what detecter do you have , i used metal detecting out alot back in the uk

Well i´ll be staying at the Marriott Hotel.They say you can get around good from there.(no im not rich,just saved for a year lol)

I use a Garrett ace 250.Its a nice begineers detector.I´ll be buying a new one next year(i hope)
