Saw a young kid do something stupid yesterday at immigration, what do you think happened to him?

So, yesterday I was at immigration, renewing my visa, and a kid in his early 20s was arguing with the officer, and then in a burst of anger the kid kicked the stand where the officer was, and he walked away.

The officer raised from his chair, went to this kid, and told him to follow him. They both walked toward the buildings located at the back of immigration.

This happened in the morning, and even though I stayed at immigration till the afternoon, I didn't see that kid again.

What do you think could have happened to him for that offense? Deportation? A beating? Maybe jail time for a few days?

Probably very little. Thai's are generally extremely tolerant of people acting out.

He was probably escorted out of there and told to piddle off... unless of course he was on overstay or something similar in which case he's feeling the full girth of a shafting.....

I can’t think of a better place for a entitled foreigner to display ill temper than at an IO, or towards any Thai police for that matter

I've only seen a person 'misbehaving' once with immigration within Thailand, a Frenchman at the Ban Pakkard crossing into Cambodia, he was attempting a border-bounce and refusing to pay an overstay fine,

Shouting at the female immigration officer, then stepped back and put his hand on his crotch making sexual thrusting movements towards her.

Presume by that stage she had already hit a panic button or similar as two armed soldiers appeared and (I have to say this) frog-marched him away, his feet barely touching the ground.

No idea of the outcome, but guessing he 1. had to pay the fine and 2. may not have been permitted back in that day, if at all.

Another occasion, out of Thailand, at the Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur a young, early 20s, American screaming at the woman behind the counter as for whatever reason his application for tourist visa had been declined. "I'm an American" he yelled, "from the United States of America, do you even know where that is?" On and on he went, at one point threatening her with the United Nations!

The woman left the counter, no need to put up with this language, but he continued, having an audience of foreigners. Security removed him. Hope he enjoyed his stay in KL and Thailand seemed very unlikely.

I see bogans like this by the truck load. The west is a mess. I blame bad parents and excessive handouts for having kids

An American? Not trying to make any presumptions, though it sounds like someone from one of those decaying US cities?

it doesn't matter where he's from ..... the topic is about the kids angry outburst.
