Firefighters Express Disappointment After Police Search Following Successful Fire Suppression

In a recent incident at 04:52 AM on August 6, a fire broke out in a building within Soi Ladprao 109, Khlong Chan, Bang Kapi district, Bangkok.

 

Firefighters promptly arrived and managed to control the flames after an intense firefighting operation. However, their efforts were met with frustration when the police conducted a search of the firefighters after the fire was extinguished, reported Daily News.

 

One firefighter questioned, "Why do they treat us like this? We come to help the villagers with the fire, but after we put it out, we are subjected to searches. We mean no harm, just doing our job."

 

The incident caused a stir when a post appeared on social media showing images of the police searching the firefighters after they had successfully completed their duty. One firefighter expressed, "Our profession is often thankless, and we only face criticism and suspicion despite being heroes in our own communities."

 

The firefighter further emphasized that their only desire is to be appreciated and acknowledged for their selfless service without being looked upon with suspicion.

In a surprising revelation following a fire incident, the Royal Thai Police (RTP) confirmed that a housemaid, a long-standing occupant of the damaged property, was indeed the criminal behind the theft and subsequent fire outbreak. Unforeseen by the homeowners, the incident came to light following investigations by the local police.

 

The fire broke out yesterday, August 6, in one of the properties in Soi Lat Phrao 109, Khlong Chan, Bang Kapi, Bangkok, at approximately 4.52am. Firefighters acted swiftly, successfully suppressing the intense fire within only a few moments. However, drama unfolded after the fire was brought under control.

 

The RTP proceeded to search the firefighters who had come to execute their duty at the scene of the conflagration.

Maybe because even in the US there are reports of Law Enforcement, and other public servants taking items from people's homes.  I saw the one video when the camera was left on by accident and they were going through draws and boxes.  I do Not think it is common but would understand if Police were alerted of valuables missing.
