Good hope she lingers for a very long time to fully grasp the thing she has done

She's a sociopath/psycopath - will have no feelings about what she's done. You can't expect remorse from someone like this.

Unlikely she is either.

Outside of her hospital life she had a good circle of friends, good family relationships and good working relationships. There not any reports from any experts of her showing sociopathic ot psychotic tendencies.

She could be narcissistic. Seeking sympathy or attention. Making her working life look difficult in order to gain acclaim for doing such a great job in the face of heartbreaking events.

Dr Derek's diagnosis: she was hiding some interior (probably sexual) dysfunction that created an unbearable inner tension. Killing babies was her twisted vengeance against something that was biologically beyond her. After the first one, she would have become addicted to the feeling of empowerment. Despite the moral repulsion that she would have felt, she would have been no more in control of her actions than a drug addict.

I mostly agree with your assessment.

There was certainly something eating away at her.

My punt is Munchausen by Proxy.

While Letby’s lawyers did not make a mental illness defense, she will almost certainly be subjected to mental health review while in prison.

Possible but doubtful.

By what she did, it seems she had the intent to kill. The 7 deaths happened quickly and at her first attempt. Prior to what she did they were in good health.

Those with Munchausen by Proxy don't intend to kill but wish to seek attention by creating false illness.

I believe she always thought she would be found not guilty, hence the lack of mental health assessments during the case. She is still in denial and will likely refuse all communication with mental health assessors. That is her right as she is deemed to have mental capacity to make her own decisions.
