Deputy police commissioners, who aspire to promotion to commissioner in the annual reshuffle, will have to be patient, as outgoing PM Prayut Chan-o-cha has decided to let the new PM make the decision.

Pol Maj Gen Archayon Kraithong, spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, quoted Prayut as saying that, in line with good governance, now that Srettha Thavisin is the new prime minister, the decision on the appointment should be his.

The current police commissioner, Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat, is due to retire on Sept 30.

They must be earning more then their counterparts in Europe as many top brass of the Police drive flashy cars and live in up scale luxury mansions.

Wunda how much tea money they have to pay?

Step daughters boss (in a govt. position) wanted 100K to gain her a promotion which only pays an extra 5K per month. WTF!!!

We offered 30K which was accepted.

She will be > 30 before she sees a benefit from her 5 years of university.

BTW. Yes, we had to buy her "foot in the door"!

Not much else he could say, except goodbye.

Sorry boys.... but you aren't getting the brown envelopes back!

Srettha Thavisin cannot have the slightest clue who to appoint so the musical chair is in full rotation while the 30th PM can watch - possibly not to his financial disadvantage. Although it has to be said, that the pricing might have gone through the roof given the number of new sucklings on the Thai trough ........

What a hopeless farçe for a country in the 21st century claiming to be no longer neither banana republic nor a 3rd world country ..........
