In a harrowing clash, two rescue teams, one from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the other from a cooperative foundation, engaged in a fierce altercation while responding to an emergency near Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road. One side fired shots, injuring members from the opposing team.

Around 5:00 PM on September 3rd, a white van bearing the license plate "HONG 1946 Bangkok" was spotted stationed near the scene of the incident. This van belonged to the BMA rescue team. One of the injured individuals, an activist from the cooperative foundation, sustained wounds on the left arm from gunshot pellets. Witnesses reported that during an exchange, an argument escalated into gunfire.

Supanut Suwannachim, a volunteer from the cooperative foundation, shared that he had initially walked away to retrieve his bag. Upon returning, his counterpart on the other side drew a gun, firing shots at the ground and subsequently injuring him. Such conflicts are rare, as most adhere to their duties without provoking confrontations. The aggressor's motives remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.

Worachet Pasai, another cooperative foundation volunteer, recounted their approach to the scene and their interaction with the opposing team. The exchange escalated to gunfire, leading to injuries. Even after the shots were fired, tensions prevailed. A female BMA volunteer, a friend of the instigator, explained that they had come from delivering a patient to the hospital before encountering the scene. Her presence escalated the situation, resulting in more shots fired.

The incident underscores the importance of conflict resolution and maintaining a calm demeanor in emergency situations. It serves as a reminder that teamwork and empathy are crucial during rescue operations.

That's a joke, both teams came to offer assistance and ended up need some themselves, and what with those rag-tag clothing they're wearing as if they're in some missionary army?

And next the psychiatric team showed up late with straight jackets plastic bags and rocket launchers by the sound of this lunacy ????

That's my victim... no it's not... it's mine

Just a part of the evolution. In some countries that natural selection needs a little bit of help

Must make a note: "If I need medical help, get a taxi. Never call for an ambulance if you know what's good for you"

The photo is of a different vehicle = different licence plate. 555

Oh, that private hospital commission????

No different to the violent altercations by tow truck drivers back in the West.

They are just fighting over money here nothing else.

Everything is about money in Thailand.  Everything.

I don't remember where or who, but someplace I was at, the government or police instituted a regulation or law that banned tow trucks from appearing on scene to tow a vehicle, unless they were called either by the towee or the police.    As there were violent altercations between the responding tow truck employees.

Or, it could have been the U.S. Coast Guard that requires towing vessels to only appear on scene to tow a boat, if called.   ( As there were violent altercations between the responding tow boat employees. )

It goes to show how territorial Thais are. Almost wild animal like.

Gun and knife battles between ambulance teams, like taxis, is nothing new at all.
