1 Yr 'b' Visa Help

Hi all,

At present I have a 3 month 'B' Visa and work permit. For the past couple of months we (myself and Thai Officer at company) have been going to Chiang Mai Immigration in order to get a 1 Year 'B' visa and then extend my work permit for the same period.

We have eventually got to the point where everything is in order except:

- The Chiang Mai Immigration say the accountant the company use is not qualified enough for them to continue with the application. All other legal matters are satisfactory.

What I don't understand here is that the company is 4/5 years old and has used the same accountant since the beginnning. How can that accountant be satisfactory for tax purposes but not immigration purposes? Also, why did Kuala Lumpur give me a 3 month 'B' Visa based on the same financial documentation?

MORE IMMPORTANTLY, my visa will soon be running out. Can anyone advise me on how to proceed, preferably getting a 1 YR 'B' visa, or any other suggestions? If I went to Bangkok with all the relevant paper work would they be more understanding?

We've talked to the accountant at the company who says nothing can be done about last years accounts but next years accounts will be able to be 'stamped' by someone with a higher qualification.

So please, if someone has some advise about this.....it would be very welcome. Would other immigration offices/consulates/embasseys be more flexible?

It is quite normal not to be able to obtain one year extensions of stay immediately. The procedure is to go, with work permit and company documents to a Consulate and obtain a new B visa and when you return you renew the work permit. With the work permit you may be able to obtain a multi entry but Sunbelt would be your best source of how/where if nobody posts recent experience.
