Non Imm Type O Application

G,day from down under to all!! -mainly aussies needed!!

I could be asking a dumb question, but what is the best way of obtaining a non imm type O visa for 12 months with multiple entries? I have been told to go to the embassy in Canberra -2.5 hours away, that you can do it by mail and that even your travel agent can do it!!!

Any help would be great!!

It depends on what supporting documentation you have.

I applied with a letter from my wife a copy of the Marraige certificate and a copy of her ID Card. It took about a week from Sydney.

I neglected to mention that I have a Thai wife. Our marriage cert is an aussie one. Cheers

It will be what I said before, however you would use your Australian Marraige certificate.

I have had quite a few 1 year Non Immg O's (multi entry) from Sydney on the basis of being married and supporting spouse here in Thailand.

As previous posters have said:

Marriage certificate

Wifes ID card

Now the guy in Sydney has also asked for Tabien Ban (wifes of course) and a letter from her asking/inviting me to reside & support (in 06) he actually dictated the letter and my wife who was with me in Sydney Castlereagh Street then had to pen it out.

Back in 05 I had to get my wife who had remained at home (Nonthaburi) whilst I visited Oz to fax the ID card & TB to him at the Consulate - he said he needed to ensure my wife was actually a person(?).

So take the basics but have whatever else you have stuck in your back pocket (just in case) - by mail certainly don't forget the stamped addressed return post (registered it's you passpot) as long as you not in a hurry because if they require more info by mail takes time.
