On October 17th at 10:00 AM, Pol. Lt. Gen. Sanong Manee, the Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, along with other high-ranking officials, led a joint operation involving tourist police and business registration officers.

The operation was aimed at individuals and businesses engaged in unlawful activities that had a negative impact on tourists. It also aimed to oversee and regulate the operation of three-wheeled taxi services in specific zones, which included areas around Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram, the Royal Parade Ground, and Khaosan Road.

The police are actively striving to build a positive reputation and establish solid trust among tourists. They aim to assure tourists that they won't face deception or exploitation from local businesses.

This operation emphasizes Thailand's unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of tourists while also positioning the country as a premier travel destination.

This has got to be a wind up.

If the police just started cracking down on crime, what were they doing before October 17?

It's supposed to make you feel safe.

I do now, knowing poor parking has been sorted in one soi......555

Finally a crackdown on crime.

Now having stopped unauthorized parking, unlicensed drivers, and fashion offenses, TAT expects to reach its target.

But wouldn't that mean cracking down on the Chinese tourist triads and the Russian tourist mafias as well?

It's going to take a lot more than that... Thailand is fast becoming a no visit zone

Social media is doing a good job on places like Pattaya.

Then start with a proper, honest election if that is possible.

Get the rudest most angry staff and fill the airport with them.  That will boost confidence.

Are the cops all going to resign then?

Allways thought they should reinstate the Thang Lor pee test and blue pill body search, to save Thai tourism.

Right now I am in Batu Ferringhi, and enjoy tremendously.

Another 24 hour crackdown?

If they really want to do this, do not dress in brown or uniform,  go on Soi 3 outside Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok. See what a metered taxi wants for a 5 mins trip, and put tickets on them all. I reckon they will not need the Chinese's or Russians to fill the Treasury.

Has there ever been one?
