hello!

iam german married to a thai wife! we are both living currently in germany. we want to move to thailand soon!

iam a learned examined sales man engaged in whole and sale trades and iam having a tefl certificate.

i want to work in the import export business or work as english/german teacher.

maybe i want to move earlier than my wife to thailand.

when iam flying to bkk and i wont get work till then there do i have to buy a return ticket in order to enter thailand?

when i wont find a job in 30 days will i have problems to stay?

how are my chances to get a visa and work permit ?and how much will it cost?

is it somewhere easier to get a visa?

and how hard is it really to get an visa for me?

what else do i have to know?

thank you for your help!!!!

1. If you have a Thai wife you should obtain a non immigrant O visa prior to travel. Any Thai Consulate should issue that on the basis of marriage certificate and a copy of her ID card or passport. Some may also issue a multi entry version valid for one year which would be your first choice. Cost will be about 150 euro I suspect.

2. You should not require a return ticket with a valid visa for entry into Thailand.

3. You should be aware that work is not easy to find for foreigners without special skills.

thanks for your answer!

but say ...excuse please that i have to ask that...: what exactly is that non emmigrant visa type o?

i mean what kind of staying allowance do i have with it?and is just that multi entry visa guilty for one year or or did you mean the whole visa ?and when i did find work there is it easy for me to get another visa after one year?

so about work.. i know some non thai english teachers in bkk they have telled me that even without teaching experience but with a tefl certificate it would be easy for me to find work as an english teacher!?

You mean thats not not true?

and about working permit.. do i have to get it or will my future boss take advantage of it?

and when iam trying to get the visa per mail what except of a copy of my wifes id card and our marriage certificate do i have to send there? and what do i have to do to get that multi entry visa?

IAM SORRY THAT I HAVE TO ASK LIKE THAT! BUT I REALLY DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT ! AND FROM THE OFFICIALS I COULDNT GET REALLY USEFULL INFO!

A single entry Non Immigrant O Visa will get you 90 days in Thailand.

A multi entry will get you up to 15 months in Thailand, but you would have to hop over the border and come back every 90 days.

This Visa should be available at a Thai Embassy or Consulate in Germany. Have a look at a German web site for details.

Not wishing to be unkind but after reading your post do you really think you should be teaching English.?
